PRINCIPLES OF DISCIPLINE

  1. Behaviour & Conduct in the school & outside:-
    Head of the school will see that the following principles of discipline are observed :-

    1. Regularity and implicit obedience are expected in the school.
    2. Politeness, courtesy of speech and conduct as well as cleanliness of dress and person are inculcated.
    3. Pupils are made to realize that they are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in the school but also for the general behaviour outside.
    4. A pupil who consecutively fails twice in the same Standard is liable to be asked to leave the school.
    5. PARENTS ARE GIVEN TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE MANAGEMENT HAS THE RIGHT TO SAY ON WHAT CONDITION IT WILL ADMIT OR RETAIN PUPILS IN THE SCHOOL.
    6. Any pupil who is persistently insubordinate or is repeatedly or willfully misbehaving, or is guilty of malpractice in connection with examination or has committed an act of serious indiscipline and/or misbehaviour, or who in the opinion of the Head of the school has an unwholesome influence on fellow pupils or whose Guardians show little interest in the progress of their wards may be removed from the rolls. The removal may be temporary or permanent, according to the gravity of the offence.
    7. In case of any serious misbehaviour or malpractice in the exam hall; three written warnings will be given. If the misbehaviour continue two red warnings will be given followed by three suspensions for continued offences which will be followed by dismissal from the school.
  2. Library Rules: -

    1. It is strictly forbidden to write any remarks in a library book or underline any words. Books should be examined by the borrower before leaving the Library, and the Librarian should be notified if the book is damaged. Otherwise the borrower will be held responsible and the pupil will have to make good the damage.
    2. If a student loses a book the student will have to replace the book or pay a fine to the value of the book.
    3. Any student who infringes against the Library Rules will be liable to pay a fine or be debarred from the Library.
    4. Books from the Central Library will be issued only after the library caution fee is deposited with the Cashier.
  3. Punctuality & Regularity: -

    1. Pupils are expected to be punctual. Late comers are liable to be sent home at the parent's own risk.
    2. Pupils must be regular in coming to the school. Leave of absence is granted only on the written request of the parent/guardian in advance.
    3. No pupil who has been absent from school or late will be admitted to the class without the Principal's/Supervisor's signature.
    4. At the first bell, the pupils will stand wherever they are. At the second bell, they will move in silence to file up in their proper places for the school assembly.
    5. Pupils are expected to come to school provided with all that is necessary for their day's work. Borrowing or lending of books, pencils, eraser, rulers, instrument box, etc. is not allowed.
  4. Leave Of Absence:-

    1. No leave of absence is granted, except on previous written application from the parents or guardian and for valid reasons.
    2. If a student is absent, owing to illness, the student must, on return, bring a note written on the special page provided for this purpose in the calendar and signed by the parent or guardian. In case of longer illness, the principal should be informed and a medical certificate should be attached.
    3. During school hours no student is allowed to leave the class room without the permission of the teacher or until the class is dismissed. The written permission of the Principal is required for the student to leave the premises during the school hours. Breach of these rules will be viewed seriously.
    4. Parents are requested not to ask their children to come away from school before the school is over except in case of real necessity, in which case, permission should be obtained previously in writing.
    5. It may be noted that children will not be sent home, even in an emergency, with anyone, other than parent/guardian who might come for them during school hours, even with a written request letter from the parent or guardian.
    6. In case of emergency parents are requested to visit the school personally and fill in the early exit permission form in the office. No early exit will be allowed by the security guards without the copy of this exit form duly signed by HM/Supervisor and the class teacher or the teacher present in the class being produced at the gate.
    7. Attendance on the first day of the school is compulsory, failing which the child is liable to be fined.
    8. Pupils are expected to be present on the closing day of each term and on the opening day after each of the vacations. Those absent without prior permission will be fined at the rate of Rs.25/-
  5. School Uniforms, Grooming & Hygiene:-

    1. It is mandatory for the students to come to school in complete and clean school uniform prescribed for various classes including black leather shoes. Black coloured rainy sandals are allowed during the monsoon from June till the middle of September. PT uniform should be worn on the day prescribed for the same beginning from the month of June. During winter months the students shall wear maroon coloured sweaters.
    2. Fingernails must be cut short and kept clean. Hair should be oiled and combed regularly. It is important to have regular bath before coming to the school.
    3. Hair-styles should not be done by school students. Girl students' hair must be either bobbed or plaited with prescribed coloured ribbon. Boys must have their hair cut short.
    4. Personal cleanliness and hygiene is greatly recommended to all. Students should be well groomed and tidy. All round cleanliness of the body is necessary.
    5. The students should be particularly careful not to throw any papers, seeds, etc. anywhere in the school premises. They should use the baskets and bins especially provided for this purpose. Use of polythene bags is strictly prohibited.
    6. Students must carry only homemade food items in their Tiffin for short break. Packed, ready and junk food items are strongly discouraged.
  6. Class-room Etiquette (to be observed by students): -

    1. During the absence of the teacher, each Class Monitor Captain is responsible for the order and discipline of the class.
    2. Pupils from one class shall not visit their friends in any other class room during their recess periods. Grounds are provided for the same.
    3. When pupils move along the corridors for change of periods, they must walk in silence and in single file. They should always keep to the left.
    4. Silence must be observed in the corridors and on the stairs during class hours. There should be NO TALKING at the change of periods. Silence must be observed outside the Principal's Office.
    5. Running, playing or shouting inside the school building is never allowed.
    6. When the students go for P.T. or move along the corridor and when changing classes they must walk in silence.
